In a video shared on his Instagram page, the comedian showed a Jaguar Uber he had booked and discovered that there was no human driver behind the wheel, as the vehicle navigated the journey autonomously.
AY said he unlocked the vehicle with his phone and initiated the trip without interacting with a driver.
“See, na this car dey drive hinself. Na my Uber be this,” he said.
He added, “I unlocked the car with my phone, started the ride with my phone, and here we go. Taking me to my destination. No driver.”
Reflecting on the experience, the comedian used the development to highlight what he described as the difference in technological advancement between the West and Africa.
Sharing a video of the ride, he captioned it: “I entered Uber in Atlanta … na Jaguar, but driver no dey!”
He added humorously: “Oyinbo don use technology make motor drive itself. Meanwhile, for Africa our jazz na to dey turn people into yam. When our own juju go upgrade?”
